Arlin Pedregon is a senior undergraduate in computer science at the University of New Mexico. He is a research assistant for Dr. Leah Buechley in the Hand and Machine research group – his interests being in embedded systems, tech education and human-computer interaction. Arlin is passionate about bringing underprivileged and underrepresented communities into the tech world. His community work includes organizing food drives, TEDx talk “Selfish Selflessness” about community service in schools, as well as being an ambassador for O4U Tech and GLAAD. He was honored in June 2020 with the Spirit of Dru Scholarship from The Dru Project. Arlin wishes to start a PhD program at UNM in Spring 2021 while still being a part of the Hand and Machine research group to continue doing this rewarding work.
