Arlin Pedregon is a senior undergraduate in computer science at the University of New Mexico. Arlin is a DACA student originally from Mexico but raised and educated in Belen, NM. He is a research assistant for Dr. Leah Buechley in the Hand and Machine research group. His interests are in embedded systems, tech education and human-computer interaction. Arlin is passionate about bringing underprivileged/underrepresented communities into computer science and the tech industry. He loves teaching and doing volunteer work with food drives and the UNM School of Engineering. He is a community advocate and an ambassador for O4U Tech and GLAAD. In June 2020, he was honored with the Spirit of Dru Scholarship from The Dru Project.
Arlin will start the PhD in Computer Science program at UNM in Spring 2021 while still being a part of the Hand and Machine research group to continue our work.
